Yu Shijin spoke matter-of-factly.

But his words put bitter smiles on the faces of the other four.

“It is still the International Association.” The commander-in-chief saw the rest had their eyes lowered meekly and knew he would have to speak up on their behalf. “Interfering with someone they want just like that, this is not your style.”

They knew Yu Shijin had always kept a very low profile.

“Commander-in-chief, how do you know this is not my style?” Yu Shijin’s lips curled up slightly.

But those pitch-black eyes were devoid of any amusement.

“Master Yu!” All four men were shocked as they glanced up. “Please don’t!”

Everyone knew what kind of place the International Association was.

Their country was no match for the International Association.

If they angered anyone in the association, it was entirely possible that the big three might just replace one of them.

The commander-in-chief noticed that Yu Shijin was rapping his fingers against the back of his chair and knew that he was starting to lose his patience. He hurriedly got the other three to keep quiet, before looking at Yu Shijin. “Are you well aware of the consequences of doing something like this?”

“I have my own plans.” Yu Shijin stood up and shoved his hands into his pocket. He looked at the rest impassively. “If there is nothing else, I am leaving now.”

He looked extremely cold and commanding through the screen.

“Alright, have Chu Xuning come in.” The commander-in-chief waved.

Yu Shijin left.

The remaining four people started to argue. “Commander-in-chief, this is too preposterous. Are you really going to let Yu Shijin provoke the International Association?”

“That’s right.” One of the more senior leaders took off his glasses. “You have just implicitly assented to his wanton actions. He can do whatever he wants, but must he drag us down on this suicide mission of his?”

“Who will bear the brunt of the International Association’s rage?!”

The commander-in-chief remained quiet the entire time.

He only spoke up when the others finally stopped talking, and his tone was mocking. “You guys are so brave now that Shijin is gone? These words… why didn’t you all speak up while he was still here?”

“Don’t forget who gave you your current positions at the International Association.” The commander-in-chief snorted. “You all think too highly of yourselves. If not for Shijin, you guys wouldn’t have been able to even reach one toe inside the front doors of the International Association.”

The other three were struck silent by the words of the commander-in-chief.

They wanted to retort but failed to utter a single word.

As much as they hated to admit it, the commander-in-chief spoke the truth. If not because of Yu Shijin, they would have already been kicked out of the International Association.

He alone propped up the entire group.

This was no exaggeration.

“Speak to Shijin directly if you have any objections. I will not stop you.” The commander-in-chief straightened his sleeves, his voice calm. “As long as you are able to bear the consequences.”

The entire room went silent. No one dared to speak.

They really did not dare to openly raise any objections against Yu Shijin.

Amidst that silence, Chu Xuning entered the room with Yu Shijin’s access card.

He heard the commander-in-chief’s words.

Chu Xuning composed himself. He was no Yu Shijin and naturally did not dare to behave disrespectfully toward these four leaders. “Those International Association folks should have known better than to arrest one of Master Yu’s people. It is normal that he would be angered. Have you forgotten how his massacre at the International Battlefield just two months ago? He only stopped after the City Lord of the International Battlefield personally requested him to cease.”

Chu Xuning lowered his voice. “Also, instead of being worried about the International Association, you should restructure the violent crimes division.”

The commander-in-chief was still musing over the words “one of Master Yu’s people”. His heart skipped a beat at Chu Xuning’s words.

“Although the International Association was behind this matter, the one who carried out the orders was Qin Dui of the violent crimes division.” Chu Xuning took out the access pass which Yu Shijin had given him and turned toward the door. “Master Yu already said that no one will be spared. From top to bottom. Your violent crimes division… will not be let off that easily either.”

Right before leaving, he glanced at the chair placed in the center.

Tsk, the four leaders always remained standing respectfully during these meetings. Only Master Yu would dare to pull out a chair to sit down.

As he left, he heard the commander-in-chief’s angry voice. “Immediately investigate who was the one who gave the orders to arrest one of his people. Are you all tired of living now?!”

Meanwhile, Shen Anan was led into the little black room.

“Are you going to lock me up in here?” As the door to the room opened, light from the outside lit up the dismal interior of the room.

There were only cold, metal walls.

Shen Anan had been here once before to see Su Huiqing. But it was obvious that she was now looking at the room from an entirely different perspective.

Previously, she had observed the room with glee.

But now that she was the one who was going to be locked up inside, her heart was cold with dread.

But she maintained a calm expression as she still held a trump card. Kyle.

Kyle was her teacher and the smartest economist in the International Association. Hence, Shen Anan calmed down after her initial fright.

She believed that Yu Shijin and gang would not really dare to do anything to her.

At most they would just lock her in here for a few days.

If she had known that this trump card of hers was nothing in Yu Shijin’s eyes…

The chief detective smirked at her before turning to leave. He went to look for Yu Shijin.

“What did they intend to do after locking up Ms Su?” Yu Shijin was in the office of the Bureau Chief, leaning against a chair and looking very relaxed.

Superintendent Hong was well aware of their plans. “They would get Qin Dui to obtain a warrant and seize the Su Family.”

“Do you know what you are supposed to do now?” Yu Shijin placed one hand on the table as he glanced toward the incoming chief detective.

His eyes were full of an icy cruelty.

Without waiting for the chief detective to answer, he spat out the words. “Go and seize the Zhang Corporation.”

Whatever they did, he would return in kind. An eye for an eye.
