Rebirth of the Heavenly Empress

Chapter 42

Chapter 42: An Accurate Analysis of the Situation

Chi Yue touched his glasses while looking at the end of the corridor.

He did not immediately reply to him and Yu Shijin did not seem pressed for an answer. He just stood there patiently while giving off a cold yet elegant vibe.

The manager of the restaurant was standing at a distant corner after he had seen people coming out from the suites. He had received a notification from the Chu Family earlier in the day to clear the second level off of customers. Despite his curiosity, he did not have the guts to go up to them and ask about the situation.

The atmosphere just seemed too tense and quiet.

“Young Master Yu, how was it?” A clear voice cut into the conversation, immediately brightening up the atmosphere.

The manager heaved a sigh of relief and looked towards the corridor. However, upon seeing that Chu Xuning had brought a bunch of people upstairs, a shiver ran down his spine and he immediately stood up. He politely bowed and greeted, “Young Master Chu.”

“We do not need you here, so you can leave now.” Chu Xuning casually nodded and walked towards Yu Shijin.

The manager immediately proceeded downstairs, not forgetting to take one last glance before going down the stairs.

Yet, he did not expect to see such a shocking scene.

Chu Xuning was the grandson of the mayor of Green City—a high-ranking officer who had control over the military. With that said, even if Chu Xuning went to the capital, he was a presence not to be trifled with. After all, who in the world wasn’t aware that the mayor of Green City was actually a warlord? As long as they were willing, they did not have to obey any high-ranking officer’s orders. The only person they had to obey was the leader of the country.

But the Chu Family preferred to live honestly and keep a low profile. They obeyed the law very well and most people had already forgotten their true identity.

However, now, the prominent Chu Xuning was being polite to another man.

The restaurant manager could not help but look towards the man dressed in a black dress shirt.

The other party seemed to have felt his gaze on him, and so he slightly raised his head to look at him.

The manager’s eyes met with Yu Shijin’s icy-cold ones and a shiver ran down his spine. He immediately escaped the scene.

“This manager is too daring.” Chu Xuning chuckled before looking at Yu Shijin and Chi Yue. “Oh, right. I saw her when I entered the restaurant. Are there any recent discoveries?”

Yu Shijin did not answer him, only turning his head to look at Chi Yue with his expression and posture still looking very elegant.

His eyes were cold and deep and nobody dared to stare straight into them as usual.

“When I finally found Su S, the entire research base at the International Association exploded,” Chi Yue finally spoke. He then turned around to face Yu Shijin. “The cause of the incident was because of an explosive she manufactured herself. She once said that if there ever comes a day where she had to use it, it probably meant that she was at her wit’s end.”

The entire second floor fell into silence. It was so silent that Chu Xuning and the others had to hold their breaths.

This was the first time they uncovered such a secret.

“Young Master Yu, I will help you for a month.” Chi Yue took a cigarette out from his pocket and lit it. “I hope that you could give me a satisfactory answer by the end of the month, too. As for the person earlier on…”

Although he had seen her dead body being dug out from the research base with his own eyes…

The vibe which that person gave off earlier on seemed…

‘Similar.’

‘It was too similar!’

Her departing figure looked exactly the same as the time where Su S entered the research base for the last time!

“Who is she?” He looked at Yu Shijin, his deep blue eyes glistening.

Yu Shijin stuffed his hands into his pocket and slightly narrowed his eyes. He calmly said, “Missy Su of the Su Family.”

Unable to hear the reply he wanted, the excitement in Chi Yue’s heart immediately disappeared.

He pursed his lips and then turned around to leave.

He waved at them, causing his white ribbon to make an imaginary arc in the air.

It was not until he had left that Chu Xuning realized something. He looked at Yu Shijin with lingering fears. “She exploded the International Association’s research base just like that? She’s too…”

Listening to that description shocked him.

Chu Xuning could not help but think about Su Huiqing.

Both of their surnames were Su and their personalities… were just too similar.

“Check on Su Huiqing’s background again.” Yu Shijin lowered his eyes, hiding the coldness in his eyes.

Looking at his side-profile, there was an inexplicable coldness to it.

The Su Residences.

Su Huiqing placed the contract on the table while she leaned on the chair. With one arm hooked around her chair, she picked the contract up and stared at it. She slightly narrowed her pitch-black eyes and slowly chanted, “Yu Shijin…”

The Yu Family.

She was sure that there was no such clan at the International Association, but he did not seem like a regular person either…

Thinking about that, Su Huiqing placed her hand on her keyboard and typed Yu Shijin’s name.

A bunch of random websites appeared on the browser, but it was not what she was searching for.

She then searched ‘The Orchid Family’ on the internet.

A bunch of random websites popped up again.

With her fair fingers placed on the keyboard and the light from the computer shining on her, she looked fairer and more beautiful than usual.

Su Huiqing raised her eyebrows. Well, she expected such an outcome.

Most countries would usually censor the family backgrounds of important figures on the internet.

For example, if one were to search ‘Su S’ on the internet, a bunch of random news would appear, too.

However, it was very rare to see an entire clan censored on the internet. There was not even a clan introduction.

Su Huiqing leaned on her chair and picked up her phone. She had typed a message on her phone, but yet to send it out. She suddenly narrowed her eyes.

Clenching the phone, she kicked away her chair and rushed downstairs.

Downstairs.

Zhang Mingxi walked into the Su Residences with no trouble. Upon seeing Uncle Chen, he straightforwardly asked, “Where’s President Su?”

Uncle Chen gave him a warm smile, but coldness filled his eyes. “Young Master Zhang, you can get arrested for trespassing according to the law.”

“Trespassing? Do you still think the current Su Family is still the glorious Su Family back then?” Zhang Mingxi laughed in mockery. “Uncle Chen, I have been wanting to invite you to join the Zhang Corporation for a long time. As long as you come over, you can become the General Manager of Zhang Corporation.”

“Please leave.” Uncle Chen did not answer him. Instead, he ordered the maids to see him off.

The maids exchanged looks with one another. As much as they respected Uncle Chen, they did not dare ask Zhang Mingxi to leave.

Unfortunately, Su Ruohua was not around and Su Lun went to the park for a walk with his dog.

The scene became strangely quiet.

Zhang Mingxi chuckled. “Uncle Chen, even the maids know how to analyze the situation better than…”

However, before he could finish his sentence, an overbearing voice cut him off.

“Uncle Chen gave his orders. Are you guys deaf?”

Everyone raised their heads and saw the person on the spiral staircase.

As an ominous figure approached, they could see a beautiful profile. With one hand placed on the wooden railing and another holding her phone, she stared deep into Zhang Mingxi’s eyes with her pitch-black ones.
