Chapter 1383: Flying Dragon Wristguards
Ding~!
System Announcement: Congratulations to player "Broken Halberd Sinks Into Sand" for killing the Sovereign Rank boss, Wild Hoof Kaul! He has gained 2 Luck, 200000 Reputation, 50000 March of Chaos contribution points, and the ultimate treasure Wild Hoof Kaul was carrying, "Flying Dragon Wristguards (Seventy-two Ghost Armaments, Outstanding★★★★★★★★)"!
……
My grin could’ve split my face in half. Tear Stain—or should I say Yoon Pae Meng—truly was our treasure bowl. Not only did she increase my level to 241, she even gave me 2 Luck, 50k contribution points, and more importantly, another Ghost Armament! Lady Luck was absolutely watching over us today. I wondered what kind of effects these Flying Dragon Wristguards possessed?
First things first, I stomped the ground with War Crush to keep any assassin from stealing the loot. I had also been switching my Dark Pupils on and off this whole time just in case some of them managed to elude my skill with Assassin’s Oath. Only Farewell Song with the Ghost Lake Mirror could avoid my detection, although there was little chance he was here. For one, the map was huge enough that he would have to follow us from the start to know exactly where we were. However, he couldn’t do that because he had his own levels and loot to grind. It would be a bad look if he fell off the Heavenly Ranking because he was too busy skulking in the dark. Without exception, every expert’s success was thanks to a culmination of sweat and hard work.
I picked up the fiery red wristguards first as a matter of course. I could barely stop my hands from shivering in anticipation. What would it be, I wondered? I was currently wearing the Cambrian-grade Divine Armament, the Nine Heavens Li Fire Bracelet. Depending on how this Ghost Armament functioned, I might have good reason to change it, right?
Burning hot energy seeped into my palm as I grasped it. Yes, yes! This is what I want to feel! I waved my hand across the equipment, and a purple hologram appeared before everyone’s eyes—

……
"Holy shit!"
My heartbeat sped up the second I saw the wristguards’ Ghost Armament effect. The ability to disable a chosen piece of equipment was absolutely OP in PvP. For example, I could cancel an enemy’s Ghost Armament or Divine Armament for 15 seconds while dueling against them. What should theoretically be an even battle would turn absolutely one-sided for 15 seconds. Another usage for it would be to disable an opponent’s weapon. I would be surprised if anyone could kill me after they were "disarmed"! There was no disarming skill in this game, which meant the effect of the Ghost Armament was truly one of a kind. It was easily as good as the Heaven Suppressing Necklace’s 100% lifesteal!
My grip on the Flying Dragon Wristguards tightened, and I declared, "I’ll pay 300000 guild contribution points to get these Ghost Armament wristguards! No one has any objections, right?!"
Tiger Leopard Knight’s mouth twitched. "What did you think we were going to say? The Ghost Armament is fantastic, but we neither meet the level requirement nor the Reputation requirement. Who else here besides you even fits the bill?"
Moonlight Stone added with a beautiful smile, "He’s totally right. In fact, if you use the usual loot rolling rules, you can get this for free since you don’t have a competitor…"
That made me feel a bit embarrassed. "That is too much. I must deduct the guild contribution points for fairness sake. A man can’t be too greedy…"
A smiling Beiming Xue joked, "Says the guy who let his greed lead him by the nose? Equip the wristguards so we can check out the rest of the equipment already. We have all contributed a little to chase away Tear Stain from the boss, so we all have the right to claim the rest of the loot, right?"
I nodded and wasted no time in equipping the Flying Dragon Wristguard. The Flying Dragon Hand skill iron appeared in my skill window at the same time all my stats jumped tremendously. The stat boosts of Ghost Armaments were so good, man. In fact, now that I thought about it, the stat boosts of the Ghost Lake Mirror were absolutely pathetic compared to most of the Ghost Armaments I had encountered up until this point[1]. Yes, the 100% stealth was pretty imbalanced, but otherwise, Song of Freedom and Heaven Suppressing Necklace completely blew it out of the water. In fact, that was how the Ghost Armaments were ranked.
Besides that, the Flying Dragon Wristguards also gave me 2000 inventory slots, and who didn’t like inventory slots? In this game, the only equipment that added bag slots were army pouches and wristguards. These days, even He Yi and Lin Yixin wore wristguards that added 800 slots, which was almost enough to surpass my Nine Heavens Li Fire Bracelet. These Flying Dragon Wristguards couldn’t have arrived at a better time!
I checked my new stats. Once again, everything looked much better than before—
ID: Broken Halberd Sinks Into Sand (Title: Frostblade of Death)
Class: Master Swordsman of Death
Level: 241
HP: 1116550
Attack: 39750-45570
Defense: 104865
Magic Resist: 96920
Reputation: 1625400
Tactics: 2320
Luck: 108
……
I now had over 100k base Defense and 1.1 million base HP. In a game of war, superior stats was the royal road to victory, always!
Next, I checked out the rest of the equipment and shared their stats with everyone. Moonlight Stone, Tiger Leopard Knight, Pure Love, Beiming Xue and more all kept their eyes wide open for any equipment they might be able to use.
However, the results turned out to be a little disappointing. There was only one Archean Immortal-grade shield that I would consider good, while the rest were so-so at best. Heaven’s Rain gave it to a high-level magic knightress whom I heard was her older cousin. The girl had average looks but an excellent figure, or at least that was what Du Thirteen had told me. Generally speaking, there were four types of adjectives my brother would use to describe a woman while salivating like a pervert: "Plot that pierces the heaven, butt as round as a rock, eyes as gentle as water, and legs as smooth as jade!"
Of course, I totally agreed with him. There was a reason Mencius said, "appetite and lust are only natural" after all. I just thought that no womanly figure in the China server was better than Lin Yixin and He Yi’s, and frankly a lot of people would support my statement. The only difference between those people and me was that I got to confirm it with my own two hands, while they could only confirm it in their imaginations...
Unconsciously, I started caressing the Chill of the Nine Provinces while blushing...
"Why the fuck are you blushing?" Pure Love stared at me. "You must be thinking about something perverted, aren’t you?"
Me: "No…"
Pure Love tilted her head and swayed her hips a little. "It’s fine, you can admit it to me. This is exactly why I like you after all…"
Me: "..."
……
Once more, He Yi, Lin Yixin, Murong Mingyue and everyone else sent me a congratulatory message: In fact, there were a bit too many messages this time—
Lin Yixin: "You got the Flying Dragon Wristguards yet, Little Cheat? You must take them for yourself no matter what! I love disarming, borrow it to me so I can use it to bully people in the arena later!"
He Yi: "Heehee, congratulations to our dear Lu Chen for obtaining yet another Ghost Armament!"
Murong Mingyue: "Dear, you’re so strong, when are you getting me a priest-exclusive Ghost Armament?"
Xu Yang: "Hot damn, you’re lucky as hell, Lu Chen! Congratulations!"
Du Thirteen: "Are you selling the Nine Heavens Li Fire Bracelet, dude? If not, fret not, I’ll buy them off you. Best I can do is 300 RMB…"
Warsky: "You are one lucky bastard, Lu Chen. By the way, you’re grinding in the Ancient Chaotic Secret Realm, right? Take care! Purple Grape City, the Northern Alliance, Cyan Earth City and more are all there. Don’t drop any equipment to them! Personally, I would prefer that the China server had as many Ghost Armaments as possible!"
Moonkiss: "Oh, you’re so good, big brother Lu Chen…"
Me: "..."
Some messages took more effort to reply to than the others.
……
Suddenly, I received a message from a recently-added friend—
Chance Meeting: "Where are you in Ancient Chaotic Secret Realm right now, Lu Chen?"
Me: "I’m where the minotaurs are escorting transport carts. The coordinates are something like (113727, 09200). What’s wrong, Zhou Ping?"
Chance Meeting: "Oh, thank heavens you’re only 1.5 kilometers away from us. We Twelve Musicians are also in Ancient Chaotic Secret Realm, and we’re fighting a Sovereign Rank boss right now. However, we are being attacked by Elephant City right now. Can you please lend us a hand? Our coordinates are (120882, 11277). I can pay you for your efforts, so if it’s convenient for you, please come!"
Me: "Of course. Who is your opponent exactly? Are you holding up? How much longer can you hold? And how many enemies are there?"
Chance Meeting: "It’s Natural Flow. Flowing Cloud herself is here. They have a godlike mage with super high Magic Attack, and none of my cavalrymen are strong enough to tank two God Devil Breaks from him. Worse, Natural Flow has a total of 50k troops, and we only have 100k. Sure, we outnumber them, but there’s no chance our second-rate guild is beating a super guild like Natural Flow. Please show up with as many people as you can muster!"
I felt a little tingle on my scalp. I wasn’t expecting to run into Flowing Cloud here, and honestly, I was hoping that I would never have to fight her directly. After all, she was the only person who had lent me a hand during my lowest point in Final Duel Valley. Moreover, I knew that Natural Flow had found someone to wield the Scepter of Divine Flame, and that super powerful mage Zhou Ping spoke of was almost certainly that person. Should I hit the guy with the Chains of Freedom and get him to drop the Divine Armament? If I did that though, Flowing Cloud would absolutely hate my guts.
Despite my complicated feelings, I said, "Don’t worry, Zhou Ping. I’ll be arriving as soon as possible. Just make sure you survive until I show up!"
"Ok. Be quick though. My men are dying way too quickly!"
"Got it!"
……
I sent a message to all the executive-level players in the guild—
"Is there anyone close to Ancient Chaotic Secret Realm (120882, 11277) right now? This is an emergency. Please respond as soon as you can!"
The replies came in quickly—
Legendary Brave: Lu Chen, my 10000-man party is about 20 minutes away from that location!"
Gui Guzi: "Boss Broken Halberd, I’m about 20 minutes away from that location as well!"
Chaos Moon: "I’m nearby…"
He Yi: "I’m about 90 minutes away from there… looks like I’ve lost my way again…" [2]
Me: "..."
I thought for a second before answering, "Three 10000-man parties and my 15000-man party should be enough to deal with this. Alright, please head to that location as quickly as you can! A great battle awaits us!"
Li Chengfeng: "Some details, brother?"
Me: "Twelve Musicians, the party led by Zhou Ping and Hugging Bears In Silence are battling a Sovereign Rank boss. However, Elephant City’s Natural Flow is attacking them. We need to reinforce them as soon as possible since they’re one of our allies."
"Got it. We’ll meet you there as soon as we can!"
"Yes. Don’t rush ahead though, we can’t beat them when we’re scattered, and Flowing Cloud is present as well. Her Ivory Tower tactic will absolutely annihilate us if we rush in recklessly…"
"Oh, we remember. I would spit on that girl’s face if I could!"
"..."
1. E/N: Allow me to explain, my dear readers! That’s author saying “I wanted to make Ghost Armaments utility items with low stat boosts… but then decided not to, and that’s why you’ve been seeing all those Ghost Armaments with good stats.” This is just him retconning and making Lu Chen mirror comments ☜
2. T/N: He Yi’s sense of direction is still as terrible as ever I see E/N: Some people might not remember, but when He Yi was introduced she was known as a complete noob with terrible sense of direction. She actually lost her way in a forest when going to grind with Lu Chen for the very first time. And then she roleplayed as a commentator because she couldn’t do anything! ☜
