Chapter 1367: Qin Yi Rescues Her Mother

Chapter 1367: Qin Yi Rescues Her Mother

World's End River Treasure Domain, Other Dominion

The unabated slaughter continued to unfold amidst a field of chaos.

More and more individuals were being turned into fleshy nutrients as they were sent into the gaping maws of the flower bud. Meanwhile the blood red flower bud continued to bloom. Neverending blood light surged from the flower bud, covering the skies. Some even pierced out of the Other Dominion, blanketing the entirety of the Treasure Domain itself.

At the same time, the blood-red pillar of light coming from the center of the flower bud became more and more intense.

This pillar of light threaded through the void and was directed towards the turbulent World's End River. Strange, blood-red runes could be seen flowing through it as it widened the gap in the World's End River.

On the other side of the gap was a gigantic eye with three pupils, constantly looking down upon the World's End River Region without any emotion.

It emanated a terrifying pressure despite the fact that there were layers of the void between the eye and the people in the region. That said, the entire region was trembling before it.

All of the worldly natural energy had turned turbid and sluggish, as though it was a quail trembling under its gaze.

Meanwhile, the blood-red pillar of light emitted by the flower bud continued to strengthen, doing its best to harken its arrival. When the blood-red pillar reached its full strength, the golden talisman that floated above the Treasure Domain began to vibrate violently.

A moment later, endless beams of golden light shot out from the talisman, piercing through the void. It directly collided with the pillar of light coming from the flower bud.

Boom!

A thunderous explosion echoed, the soundwaves spreading to every corner of the World's End River Region.

When the talisman activated its defensive measures, the blood-red pillar of light was affected and the speed at which the gap expanded slowed down.

The massive tri-pupil eye finally showed a hint of emotion. It was as though it was furious with this development.

It then turned its attention towards that golden talisman.

"Hmph! The four of you better take care of yourselves..." An ominous and low voice rumbled from the skies. It was like the low growl of a True Devil, transmitted from far away.

The voice itself was unsettling and strange. It was as though it existed but also didn’t. Everyone seemed to have heard it, but if they tried to listen more carefully, they would be able to hear nothing.

As the sound transmitted, wisps of gray light followed. Wherever this light descended, the worldly natural energy would instantly be extinguished and it would form an area that was completely devoid of spirituality.

The gray light was capable of disintegrating even worldly natural energy and had strength beyond anyone's imagination.

The gray light then fell towards the talisman, and the talisman shot out boundless amounts of golden light threads in response.

Upon collision, a black hole appeared in the void.

In the face of the Tri-Pupil Enigmatic Fetus Grand Devil King's attacks, the talisman that held a trace of power from each of the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent's four Heavenly Emperors demonstrated incredible might and completely blocked all of the gray light, preventing any of it from descending.

In the Other Dominion, Qin Lian's vortex-like eyes were also observing the golden talisman. Immediately, even stronger resonant power burst out of her.

Her black flames blanketed the world, and she began to increase the speed at which she harvested the experts.

Clearly, she wished to use an even greater amount of nutrition to increase the speed at which the flower bud was nourished. This way, it would be able to break through the four Heavenly Emperors’ Sealing Talisman.

Each time she killed someone, the experts from the numerous powers plunged even deeper into despair. No matter how hard they struggled, the number of companions only dwindled.

A feeling of powerlessness and hopelessness welled up within them.

As the situation continued to deteriorate, Qin Yi, who was looking a little miserable, finally managed to sneak her way to the flower bud with the aid of Chu Qing.

The ground she stood on had been soaked with fresh blood, becoming slightly sticky. Meanwhile, the source of all this, the gaping maw that had been constantly chewing, was a small distance away.

Even further away was a giant pit in the ground, where an onyx cauldron burned vigorously with black flames.

“Has Li Luo already met his end?” The brightness in her eyes dimmed slightly. She had no time to consider everything else. Now that she had arrived, Qin Lian's dark, vortex-like eyes had turned towards her.

Qin Yi's fingers were tightly clenched into fists and blue veins could be seen on her fair and moist skin as she shouted with all her might, "Mother!"

Qin Lian's ghoulish countenance looked incredibly inhuman and callous. Her eyes were deeply focused on Qin Yi as she flicked her finger, causing the void before Qin Yi to shatter. A black flame chain that resembled a venomous python snaked through the void. Its tip was as sharp as a fang and pierced towards her forehead.

When faced with this vicious attack, Qin Yi did not seek to avoid it; she merely stared intensely at Qin Lian. "Mother! Did you completely lose all sense of reason? If you continue down this path, you'll ruin yourself! If killing your daughter will allow you to awaken, then I won't hide at all!"

Whoosh!

The chain paused half an inch away from Qin Yi's head. Despite not having physically touched her, the resultant force had nicked her, causing striking, red blood to drip from her smooth and fair forehead. The blood slid down her face, leaving behind an eye-catching trail across her nose, which was as straight as a mountain. However, Qin Yi was simply too attractive and this bloody line was unable to tarnish her charm, instead giving her a melancholic but gorgeous beauty. Years fell from her eyes as she looked at the black flame chain that had paused right before her. She then looked at Qin Lian. The vortex in her mother’s eyes seemed to have become even more turbulent as she softly said, "Mother, please don't continue down this path. You can still turn back."

She then took slow steps towards Qin Lian, unafraid of the consequences.

"Please wake up, Mother," she pleaded.

Qin Yi continued to approach her mother, whose expression seemed to soften slightly.

When Qin Yi noticed this, a hint of joy arose within her heart. It did seem like Qin Lian had retained a small part of her mind, and if this could be roused, this entire disaster could come to an end.

She still held a place in her mother's heart.

However, just as this thought flickered through her mind, Qin Yi heard the sound of whistling wind coming from behind her. Before she could turn around, she felt a sharp pain coming from her lower abdomen.

Her body stiffened.

She lowered her head and saw a black chain piercing through her. The black flames brought about immense pain. Fresh blood flowed from the wound, which sizzled and evaporated upon coming into contact with the flames.

"Mother..." Her pale face gave a bitter smile as she looked at her own kin.

Qin Lian's indifferent voice rang out. "Since you're looking to die, I'll send you on your way."

Blood leaked out from the corner of Qin Yi's mouth as she sighed lightly. "It seems it was too hard to obtain my mother's love. Mother, does the hatred in your heart overwhelm everything else? Did your resentment come from Li Taixuan's rejection all those years ago? Or perhaps it was due to your paranoia and jealousy towards Tan Tailan?"

When Qin Lian heard those names, her stern expression warped. However, before she could explode with killing intent, Qin Yi deeply sighed. Her delicate skin turned ever more pale as all of the blood was drained out of her.

At the same time, she stretched out a single finger, and a dark-blue droplet condensed on her fingertip.

This droplet contained a mysterious aura. It was incredibly pure and clear. Qin Yi flicked her finger, and the droplet shot into Qin Lian's forehead right as she was on the verge of erupting. It was quickly absorbed into her body. Qin Lian suddenly paused and her heartless expression froze.
