Chapter 3095: Had Never Ridden on This Kind of Bus Before

This place was several days away from the nearest city. Ning Shu thus planned to take a long-distance coach.

She bought two tickets from a scalper and boarded the bus with Gong Rong.

Ning Shu found seats toward the back and shoved Gong Rong into the window seat.

She sat beside him and effectively blocked his path. If Gong Rong wanted to escape, he’d have no choice but to jump out the window.

Gong Rong looked rather miserable. He stood stiffly and refused to sit down.

“Sit,” Ning Shu ordered.

Gong Rong shook his head. “No. It’s dirty.”

As a pampered young master, he had always lived in the lap of luxury, surrounded by the finest things. He had never ridden on this kind of bus before.

The coach was in poor condition—snack wrappers littered the floor, along with spit, chewing gum, and what appeared to be urine.

That was probably left by adults helping their kids relieve themselves.

Gong Rong wasn’t a clean freak, but even he couldn’t bring himself to sit down in such a filthy environment.

There were men and women, old and young, all crowded into the bus, carrying bags of every shape and size. A mix of all kinds of smells filled the air.

Gong Rong thought he caught a whiff of stinky feet, then the sharp scent of seafish.

This was… just too much.

He’d rather walk.

Ning Shu pressed down on Gong Rong’s shoulder and forced him into the seat with a firm push.

His expression shifted—he looked as if he’d just been forced to sit in a sewer.

The bus hadn’t filled up yet. It would only leave once all the seats were taken.

Seeing Gong Rong idly sipping from his water bottle, Ning Shu said, “Don’t drink too much. Once we’re on the road, there won’t be any toilets, and you’ll just have to hold it.”

Gong Rong silently screwed the cap back on, rolled down the window, and began gulping in fresh air.

He felt like he was suffocating.

Just then, two uniformed police officers boarded the bus.

Ning Shu’s face remained calm, but her heart gave a heavy thump.

She hadn’t expected the police to arrive so quickly.

They must’ve tracked them down after she withdrew money using Gong Rong’s black card. It seemed the authorities had already mobilized.

The officers stared directly at Ning Shu and Gong Rong.

Gong Rong leaned his head against Ning Shu’s shoulder, made a delicate, effeminate hand gesture, and said in an affected, syrupy male voice, “What are you looking at? Never seen true love before?”

As soon as he said that, everyone on the bus turned to stare at him with extremely strange expressions.

Ning Shu stayed composed. She reached out to gently pat Gong Rong’s face and nodded, then replied in a low, masculine voice, “It’s ‘true love’.”

The police officers: …

Ning Shu felt quite speechless herself. She really couldn’t figure it out anymore—were she and Gong Rong putting on a gay act or a lesbian one?

The officers looked at them for a while longer. Gong Rong’s appearance was certainly striking, but it didn’t match the information they had been given.

Eventually, the two officers got off the bus, and only then did Ning Shu’s tightly strung nerves begin to relax.

She leaned in close to Gong Rong’s ear and whispered coldly, “Behave yourself. Stop drawing attention.”

“Hng~” Gong Rong raised a small pink fist and tapped her chest. “Even if I say nothing, my face alone draws attention, doesn’t it?”

Ning Shu gave him a hard slap across the face. “Quit acting slutty. If you keep flirting, I won’t go easy on you.”

She noticed that everyone on the bus was still staring at them, so she barked, “What’re you looking at? Never seen true love before?”

The onlookers: Such heavy taste…

Gong Rong licked the blood at the corner of his mouth. “You really hate my face that much? You’re jealous of me, aren’t you?”

Ning Shu nodded and said, “I’m very jealous of it.”

Gong Rong fluttered. “You’re so mean~”

Ning Shu wanted nothing more than to slap the other side of his face as well.

The bus finally started up and pulled out of the station.

Only then did Ning Shu begin to feel a little more at ease.
