Chapter 4329: Is That So?
As they continued searching for the Raven, Rean suddenly took the opportunity to confirm something that had been bothering him for a while.
"Senior Tobao," he began while keeping the airplane steady, "even if the Raven is truly injured, can you actually deal with it? You still won’t be able to properly lock your Celestial Senses onto it, right?"
Tobao shook his head slowly.
"This is certainly an opportunity, but we cannot be overly optimistic yet," he answered honestly. "First of all, we still don’t know how serious the Raven’s injuries truly are. More importantly, we have no idea how much those injuries affect the innate ability of its Third Eye."
Roan, however, seemed somewhat more confident. "It probably won’t be as effective anymore," he said thoughtfully. "At the very least, I doubt the backlash from locking onto it will remain strong enough to seriously affect you."
That immediately attracted everyone’s attention.
"Why are you so sure?" Arcis asked.
"I’m not sure," Roan corrected calmly. "This is only speculation on my part, and I could very well be wrong. Still, the reason I believe its ability should weaken here is because we are very far away from the main battlefield."
The moment he said that, Rean immediately understood.
"Oh!" Rean nodded. "If the Raven’s innate ability truly depends on how many experts are perceiving its existence, then this area should weaken it considerably."
He quickly expanded on the idea.
"The Godly Creatures around here are very sparse. Most of them are still moving from distant areas toward the frontlines. Compared to the frontlines themselves, there simply aren’t enough beings nearby constantly perceiving the Raven’s presence. If its Third Eye depends on that perception to amplify itself, then its innate ability shouldn’t be operating at full power."
"Exactly," Roan confirmed. "Of course, this is still only a theory. But if we’re right..." His eyes narrowed slightly. "...Then this may truly be our best chance to bring it down."
Arcis, however, corrected them.
"We don’t necessarily need to kill it," he said. "If we can inflict enough damage to force it to abandon the assault permanently, that alone would already solve the problem. As long as it no longer returns to the battlefield, the rest won’t matter."
At that exact moment, Celis suddenly noticed something.
Through their Soul Connection, he immediately informed Kentucky, who then spoke aloud for the others to hear.
"Seniors..." Kentucky said seriously. "Then you’d better prepare yourselves. I think we just found where the Raven is hiding."
Arcis and Tobao were instantly startled.
The energies inside their bodies immediately began circulating as their expressions sharpened.
"Where?" Tobao asked immediately.
Kentucky pointed toward a massive cliff formation located several dozen kilometers away.
"The blood traces become much fresher in that direction," he explained. "At the same time, the amount of blood decreases significantly, which means the Raven is already stopping the bleeding. It may have already stabilized the wound completely, even if the injury itself hasn’t healed yet."
"Stop the airplane here," Arcis ordered immediately.
Yet Rean unexpectedly refused.
"No. Stay inside."
Both Law Gods looked at him.
Rean continued quickly.
"That Raven is a Godly Horror. There’s no doubt its sensitivity is extremely high. If you two approach directly right now, it will most likely notice you immediately and flee."
He then pointed toward the disguised airplane itself.
"But my airplane is different. To the Raven, this should look like nothing more than an ordinary Flying Godly Spawn. If we approach carefully enough, the Raven will probably ignore us completely."
Tobao narrowed his eyes.
"Or..." he countered, "...the Raven might become irritated that such a weak Godly Creature dares approach its territory and destroy the airplane instead."
The moment those words left Tobao’s mouth, Roan’s eyes suddenly lit up.
"...Is that so?" he muttered.
---
The Three-Eyed Raven rested quietly halfway up the side of the massive cliff.
Dense Godly Energy continuously circulated around the terrible wound on the side of its chest as it slowly recovered from the explosions earlier.
The injury looked horrifying.
The flesh surrounding it had turned black from the burns, and the damage itself extended surprisingly deep into the Raven’s body.
From time to time, the Raven’s eyelids twitched slightly.
Although the bleeding had almost completely stopped, the pain clearly remained intense.
Even so, the Raven showed no signs of returning to its nest.
As a Godly Horror, its control over Godly Energy far surpassed ordinary Godly Creatures, greatly accelerating its recovery speed. At this rate, in one or two days, it would likely return to the battlefield once more and continue slaughtering cultivators using its terrifying innate ability.
However...
Suddenly, the Raven’s two normal eyes opened.
Its head slowly turned toward the right.
Far away in the distance, a Flying Serpent-type Godly Creature was approaching through the skies.
Well... not exactly approaching directly.
It looked more like the serpent was simply passing nearby.
Nonetheless, the Raven disliked it immediately.
Its mere presence terrified all Godly Creatures in the surrounding area. Normally, not a single creature dared approach the territory where it rested.
*CAW!*
Its cry exploded across the cliffs and echoed through the skies for many kilometers. It was clearly a warning. Normally, that single cry alone would have frightened any nearby creature into fleeing immediately.
Yet surprisingly...
The Flying Serpent appeared completely oblivious to the Raven’s existence.
Soon afterward, it calmly passed only a few hundred meters away from the cliff before continuing forward as if nothing existed there at all.
To a territorial creature like the Raven, even without true intelligence, such behavior was still interpreted as a challenge to its authority.
The Raven immediately spread its massive wings and prepared to chase after the serpent—
Or at least, that was what should have happened.
Yet, at that exact instant, the Raven sensed something else.
Its senses caught a new presence approaching from above the cliff. The moment it noticed that presence, the Raven’s Third Eye snapped open as well, glowing with terrifying golden light.
Right above the cliff, a black-and-white Demon Beast suddenly emerged into view while carrying a black-haired ’young man’ on its back.
Naturally, it was Kentucky and Roan.
Despite lacking true sentience, the Raven was still a smart Godly Creature.
For a brief instant, it actually considered fleeing immediately.
However, almost at the same moment it sensed Kentucky and Roan, it also realized something else. Those two were only Middle Stage Anchor Gods!
Kentucky and Roan also appeared to finally ’notice’ the Raven’s existence. Immediately, both revealed expressions of shock before quickly turning around to flee.
The Raven had seen such reactions countless times before.
Fear.
Absolute fear.
Every enemy who encountered it reacted similarly.
Kentucky and Roan disappeared behind the cliff moments later, though the Raven continued tracking them through its senses. Now that it had locked onto their existence, the Raven no longer intended to let them unwatched until they left its sense range.
Its body even twitched slightly, seemingly tempted to pursue them personally.
Yet ultimately, the injury on its chest stopped it from moving recklessly.
Besides...
The targets were far too weak.
They simply were not worth the effort.
However, at that moment, the Raven suddenly remembered something else.
That Flying Serpent from earlier.
The Raven had completely forgotten about it because, in its mind, such a weak Godly Creature could never possibly pose any threat whatsoever.
To the Raven, cultivators always took priority. Any Godly Creature below the Godly Predator level was utterly insignificant.
And so, when the Raven’s attention finally shifted back toward the Flying Serpent...
Just to see it was already directly in front of its face!
At that distance, it was too late to react.
Well, not that the Raven particularly cared.
Its disdain toward the weak Flying Serpent was simply too great.
*Zuuullllwwww...*
At that exact moment, terrifying Celestial Laws exploded outward.
The temperature of the entire region plummeted instantly as the Celestial Laws of Ice spread across the surroundings.
At the same time, the skies darkened violently while the Celestial Laws of Lightning manifested overhead.
’Ice Zero!’
’Heaven’s Fall!’
Arcis and Tobao finally made their move!
