Chapter 3843: Has To Be There...
Of course, it wasn’t really Rean’s or Clive’s Spaceship. It was the spaceship he arrived with, which could hold tens of thousands of experts. He was just one of them, although he did occupy a quite high position inside due to his cultivation.
Rean was received by a few experts, ready to take him inside and heal his injuries. However, Rean stopped them, asking something else. "My injuries can wait. I need to talk with the Captain. Where is he now?"
A guy quickly answered. "Captain went out a while ago, joining the fight in sector L991S4. They needed a few extra Divinity Realm Experts, and the Captain was one of those selected for the attack. Senior Curuto is in charge while the Captain is out."
"Alright, bring me to Curuto," Rean ordered.
No one doubted Rean... or Clive, as the Werdlem Energy Signature was the correct one. Rean also had the same aura and appearance, so everyone believed him to be Clive.
As Rean approached the commanding center of the ship, the healing experts worked on his body, trying to heal as much as possible. Rean felt a little apologetic to them as all that work was pretty meaningless. Nonetheless, he thanked them all.
Finally, on the bridge, Rean met Curuto. "Senior Curuto, I bring news."
Curuto had received the message and didn’t have a good expression. "Clive, right? Your battalion lost quite badly. If you came here to beg for forgiveness, that is not up to me, not even the Captain, and you already know that. Don’t expect me or anyone else to cover for you either."
Rean bitterly smiled. "I’m aware of that, senior. However, I need to talk to you about something else I saw on the battlefield before my battalion was defeated."
"Hum?" Curuto narrowed his eyes. "Why did you come here, then? Couldn’t you simply send a message? The network of the ship is still working fine. You are wasting our time here."
"It can’t be through the network, please understand. Can we have a moment?" Rean insisted.
Finally, Curuto relented, passing his orders. "Bring him over. The rest of you can go back."
Rean approached Curuto’s seat, and Curuto used his Divine Energy to create a barrier so their conversation couldn’t be heard. "Alright, go ahead. What is it you want to talk about?"
Inside the Dimensional Realm, Sister Orb immediately started to work. [Alright, keep him busy for a few minutes, Rean. I’m reading his Werdlem Energy Signature.]
*Cough, cough, cough...*
Rean suddenly began to cough up blood, and Curuto looked at that, annoyed. "Did you come here just to dirty my bridge? If you are that bad, you should have let the healers take care of you first, idiot."
Rean shook his head in response. "I-I’m sorry, Senior Curuto. I’m-I’m fine. I just need a minute to stabilize my energies. Those Umbras are pretty nasty, especially their weird black energy. Even now, I find it hard to believe that energy was made out of emotions."
Curuto nodded. "This Universe was special due to the system that existed here. You should actually use this chance to learn, as you won’t find anything like that anywhere else in the Werdlem Empire."
Rean took a few deep breaths, closing his eyes and driving his Divine Energy around his body. Of course, that was all a facade. He was just buying more and more time. He stopped talking and ’concentrated’ for a while.
Curuto waited, but he also had other things to do. "How long will it take? I can’t wait forever. We are in the middle of a war here. If you don’t start talking, I’m sending you to the medical bay."
"No, no!" Rean quickly opened his eyes. "I-I’m fine. I can talk now. Senior, I think I know a way to cause a big damage to the Umbras at once, especially if they are all gathered in a single place."
Curuto didn’t expect that. "What are you talking about?"
Then, Rean began to explain a lot of things, most of which was bullshit but made a lot of sense when coming out of his mouth. He truly ’entertained’ Curuto for various minutes nonstop. "So you see? If we could control the main cannons and use our own emotions to lure the Umbras, maybe, just maybe, we could get rid of a lot of them at once."
Curuto massaged his forehead. "It doesn’t look impossible, but the risks are too high. We will need to move our Spaceship closer to a big battlefield, too. I will bring your idea up to the Captain once he comes back. As to whether we will use this or not, that’s up to him."
"But senior-" Rean tried to insist.
"Enough!" Curuto stopped him, bringing the barrier down. "Now, go back and heal. We will need to redeploy you again later. You can try to make up for your loss then."
Rean sighed, nodding and turning around to leave. He seemed disappointed, but in fact... ’Alright, Sister Orb. I gave you way more time than you needed.’
[Yeap!] Sister Orb had finished her work too. [Curuto’s ID is saved. Now, let’s go to the central area. Curuto’s ID should be enough to get there.]
Zangeshu couldn’t help but ask. ’What about Master’s cultivation? Curuto is in the Middle Stage of the Divinity Realm. Master is an entire Realm below that.’
’It’s not a problem,’ Roan shook his head in response. ’This fleet is made of various spaceships from different Universes around D33. The only ones who will recognize Curuto are the Spaceships on this side of the fleet. Once in the central area, no one would know what cultivation Curuto really has. All they will know is that the Werdlem ID is genuine and matches his appearance and aura, and that should be enough.’
[Well, normally this kind of thing would be seen through very fast since Curuto would be using his own ID at the moment. However, we have to thank the Universe Owner, that Level Four Umbra. He blocked the Werdlem Empire’s Signal, so no one has any connection with the Werdlem Network. The fleet can only verify the IDs inside their own databases at the moment. Of course, be ready to run away if anything goes wrong.]
Rean left to be ’healed,’ which happened very fast for ’some reason.’
"Wow! You guys have some crazy healing skills..." Rean complimented the two experts who came to help him. "I’m already back to normal and only need to replenish my Divine Energy. I didn’t know we had such good healers in our Spaceship."
Those two were utterly lost, though. Since when were their healing abilities that good? But before they could voice their doubts, Rean said something else that made them shut their mouths.
"I’ll recommend you guys later for a bonus. You deserve it!" Rean smiled brightly at them.
"Ri-right!" The two guys were ecstatic. So what if they didn’t know how Rean healed that fast? The bonus was everything that mattered. "You can count on us again."
And thus, Rean was back in fighting condition, leaving the Spaceship sometime later to join another battalion. He was given the chance to select which one he wanted, and to ’make up’ for his ’defeat,’ he selected one further inside with higher risks. No one stopped him, as his actions were fairly normal for those who had performed poorly recently and didn’t want to be punished later.
He battled for a while until his group also lost. Then, he was ’forced’ to flee again... although, this time, he fled to the central area because he had ’no other choice.’
Pretending to be lost, Rean arrived at the main battlefield days later, and in the distance, he saw it. An absolutely enormous Spaceship, even bigger than the Ruins of the Stars back in the Lisan Universe. ’Well, the guy has to be there...’
