Death… And Me

Chapter 3808: Change

Chapter 3808: Change

Those connected to the Light of the Provider rarely shared unnecessary information. Sister Orb checked this Universe’s network, and surprisingly, there wasn’t a single mention about what happened with the Light Spreader. It was obvious that the network information was tightly controlled.

That was good for the twins’ group, of course. At least they wouldn’t have all the Light of the Provider Fanatics after them all over the Universe.

The next day arrived without any issues, and from the Pseudo-Temporal Path, a new bunch of experts arrived, like any other day, as others left. Yet, within that group, there was a Space-Time Realm expert with white clothes and an emblem attached to his chest piece.

Those around who saw him would immediately pay their respects, to which the guy smiled and politely reciprocated to everyone. After a while, the crowd dispersed, and he left. It didn’t take long for him to find some other corner to change his clothes and remove that emblem of the Light of the Provider.

"This shit propagator position is so annoying. Just how many more years do I need to spend doing these kinds of jobs? If the payment wasn’t worth it, I would have left this Universe already," he complained nonstop.

"It’s just your first day, and you are already like that?" It was then that another expert arrived. "I’ve been here for years, you know?"

The guy looked at the newcomer and snorted. "Xanfel, do you think I don’t know? You love to use your status as a Light Propagator to do some shit with the women around. Are you telling me you did not enjoy your time here while looking for suspects?"

That wasn’t Xanfel, though. Instead, it was Rean, who was using his Body Transformation Technique to look precisely like Xanfel. He had all the important memories from Xanfel as well, so he recognized the guy. "Come on, Ricuiti, have you ever seen such docile meat before? Hahaha! All in the name of the Light of the Provider. This is actually a great way to pass the time. I wonder how many kids I have all over this Universe already."

Rean didn’t feel the least bit sorry for what they did to Xanfel. What he just said was indeed the kind of behavior Xanfel carried in this Universe. "We even get paid, so I truly don’t have much to complain about."

Ricuiti found Xanfel disgusting, but that wasn’t his problem. "Whatever. Give me your ID so we can get it done."

Rean passed his fake communication device, which had the ID. Looking from the outside, it looked exactly the same as Ricuiti’s. Ricuiti took out his own communication device, and after pairing them, he received the response he was looking for. "Done. Your surveillance term is over. You are to report back to the Hongel Branch in the Divine Realm within three days. Now, get out of my face as I have better things to do."

Xanfel, or rather Rean, shrugged and took his communication device back. Yet, inside, he was sighing in relief. Sure, it seemed the communication device and the ID he made with Zangeshu and Tanxan worked just fine. However, who could guarantee it wouldn’t show any flaws? "You are no fun. You truly don’t know what you are wasting."

Then, Rean took out the robe and the emblem of a Light Propagator from the Dimensional Realm, putting them on and leaving right after. "See you around." The real Xanfel had quite a few in his Spatial Ring.

Inside the Dimensional Realm, Foliana couldn’t help but ask. "Can I cut this guy into a thousand pieces? He should be pretty useless now, right?" She heard about what kind of guy Xanfel was.

Roan refused. "You can’t. In his memories, there was a part where he gave his soul flame to the Empire for monitoring. If he dies, the soul flame will extinguish, and the Empire will know straight away that he died. So, how can a dead guy be walking around the Light of the Provider members? We have to keep him alive... for now."

Rean decided to ignore that and flew straight to the Providers Path Building. Showing his ID, he was given free access to the Pseudo-Temporal Paths that were open at the moment. There were seven of them, each one the result of the sacrifice of millions of devotees. At least each Pseudo-Temporal Path would stay open for various years, some even a few hundred.

Of course, Rean didn’t have much of a choice. He had to take the one that would bring him the closest to that Hongel Branch Ricuiti mentioned.

Being a Light Propagator had its advantages. Rean was able to ignore the entire queue waiting to take the Pseudo-Temporal Path. Usually, it could take days until his time arrived, but now he went on straightaway.

"Everyone, the transfer is about to happen. Please make sure you have the proper Spatial Protection if your cultivation is too low," a Devil spoke to those on the platform.

There wasn’t really a need to wait, as the Pseudo-Temporal Path wouldn’t ever close and open while it was active. However, the same path was used to come and go, so you had to be careful to not enter it while others were coming down to the Underworld. A moment later, the next group appeared on a nearby platform, coming from that same Pseudo-Temporal Path Rean was about to use.

The Devil saw that and confirmed the status with the Divine Realm through the Network. Finally, he gave the order. "Alright, you can all enter. You have a minute to get inside, or you will have to wait until the next time a slot is available."

The group didn’t move. They were all looking at Rean, who immediately understood the situation. No one there would go in front of a Light Propagator. Those directly connected to the Light Idiots always took priority.

Rean’s expression didn’t change, and he flew to the Pseudo-Temporal Path above. Finally, the rest of the group followed, a group of almost five hundred experts disappearing in the next few seconds. Who knows if the twins would see the Underworld of D33 again...
