Chapter 1218: Ancient Gates, Divine Appraisal

’As the third young master of the Dragon Clan, maybe Kayn knows something about them. In the future, I should try looking into it. Given the current threat to the Mortal Realm, if I can somehow get the Ataragonians to join forces with Amaharpe and its allies, it will be much easier to defend against the shadahi and other threats. Though it’s much easier said than done.’

Even during the last war against the shadahi, according to what Izroth learned, the Ataragonians did not make an appearance. If they chose to remain hidden despite the clear dangers the shadahi presented during that time, there was no telling what it would take for them to lift a finger.

Izroth set those thoughts to the back of his mind. He quickly filled with each of the Spheres of Avarice with one liter each of the Blood of the Immortal Hydra. This depleted the amount in the vial by roughly 15%.

Izroth also contacted Aurora at the Mystical Realm Palace and informed her of the details. And, right as everything was settled with the last few details of the agreement, Vice-Head Malric entered the private room.

There was a smile on Malric’s face as he approached Izroth and the two Elders of the Apothecary Guild.

"Apothecary Izroth, I was able to get in contact with the person from the Order of a Thousand Blossoms who submitted the request to the Wall of Pills. They have confirmed that the one who healed the Holy Maiden should be in possession of the Twin Blossom Crest. As long as Apothecary Izroth can show proof that he is the owner of the Twin Blossom Crest, there should be no issue with you claiming credit for the five stars request placed on the Wall of Pills." Malric stated.

He then continued, "Under normal circumstances, we would also need to send a grade six or higher Apothecary from the guild to confirm it in person. However, since the person behind the request has a grade seven badge from the Apothecary Guild, there is no need to send someone all the way to the Thousand Blossoms Peak."

"Then, this much should be fine." Izroth said as he removed the Twin Blossom Crest from his inventory and held it outward for Malric to see.

The moment Izroth showed the Twin Blossom Crest, a strong scent of cherry blossoms spread through the room. This caused Celia, who was still excitedly looking around the private room, immediately snapped her attention toward Izroth as she was overcome with an overwhelming presence.

Malric nodded, "It’s the real Twin Blossom Crest. Not that I would doubt my benefactor. It’s just that when it comes to the Wall of Pills, even as the Vice-Head of the Apothecary Guild, I cannot act as I please."

"I understand the position you’re in. I won’t make things difficult for you." Izroth stated as he returned the Twin Blossom Crest to his inventory.

The entire situation was one that had never occurred ever since the founding of the Apothecary Guild. The fact that Malric was able to handle things in such a quick and efficient manner showed that he gave his full attention to the issue at hand.

"As long as there are no misunderstandings, I am satisfied. You have given me a new chance at life when a part of me had long since given up hope, Apothecary Izroth. For this, you will forever be my benefactor. If there is anything that Apothecary Izroth needs, as long as it does not go against my morals or harms the Apothecary Guild, all you have to do is say the word. I, Malric, will see to your request with the utmost care." Malric stated as he cupped his hand into his fist respectfully.

Not long after Malric spoke, Izroth received a stream of system alerts.

The first thing that caught Izroth’s attention was the Ancient Gate Map. Back when he entered Pzenium, Izroth visited a place known as the Millennial Veiled Oasis. It was there that he met the strange trephasia child with red hair. He also completed an S-ranked quest called Preserving Life In The Oasis.

One of the rewards Izroth obtained from that quest was the Ancient Gate Activation Stone. Unfortunately, it was completely useless to him. That’s because, as far as he knew, there were no longer any functioning ancient gates anywhere in the Mortal Realm!

Though it explained why such an invaluable item was the reward for only an S-ranked quest.

Nevertheless, Izroth speculated that there must be a way for him to use the Ancient Gate Activation Stone; otherwise, the system would probably not have listed it as a reward in the first place. And, it turned out that his intuition was correct.

’Ancient Gates... I’ve read about them, but there isn’t much information surrounding them since they practically ceased existing after the First War of the Titans.’

The time period after the First War of the Titans was also known as the "Era of Darkness". This was due to the fact that a lot of knowledge and technology was lost or scattered after the war.

’It’s not impossible to teleport over absurdly long distances; however, even those at the peak of the legendary realm cannot do so without a specialized skill. Though it still doesn’t come easily. As for magic items—even an SSS-ranked magic item probably won’t take you more than 10,000 kilometers. Furthermore, one has to pay a heavy price in the process. Ancient Gates, however, were said to only need mana cores to function. If I can restore the Ancient Gates throughout the Mortal Realm, not only will it help give an Amaharpe and its allies an advantage against the shadahi and other foes, but the amount of influence and power I hold will skyrocket—especially among players.’

Items, skills, experience, power—there was one thing all players had to do if they wanted to gain any of these things in RML and that was exploration.

Not only would the Ancient Gates aid in exploration, it would shorten the time it took to travel over vast distances. This alone made it a convenience unlike any other that powers like the top guilds would salivate over.

’If managed correctly, the Ancient Gates can generate more profit than the Mystical Realm Palace. For now, I will keep an eye out for Ancient Gates on my journey and try to repair them as I go. Just in case, I should stop by the Mystical Realm Palace to pick up some mana cores. The Blood Moon I left there should have generated quite a few by now. Once I’ve finished the more urgent matters at hand, I can take my time actively repairing some Ancient Gates.’

Izroth set aside the matter of the Ancient Gates as he turned his attention to the skill he acquired.
