294- Follow-Up Effects (后续影响)
After settling the matter of Jing Fan, the store owner that Bai Yu An was in contact with finally replied.
The location she was eyeing was instantly bought with Bai Yu An negotiating with the other party about paying in installments. At the same time, Bai Yu An also hired someone to become the manager of the tea house
The person was called Chu Rong who was in his early thirties, and although he was a little old-fashioned, he had his own unique way of speaking and his love for tea was obvious to all, totally the opposite of Jiang Fu’s father, Jiang Wen Sheng.
Jiang Wen Sheng acted out the image of a refined scholar for the sake of his business, which was the total opposite of Chu Rong.
Although Jing Yun Zhao wanted to deal with the tea house problems personally, she couldn’t go out of her house for the time being.
Even though the Jing and the Qiao Family were already ruined, she was also massively affected by the fallout. Everyday she’ll rush home and shut herself in the moment school ends.
This was because a large majority of people still considered her as a lonely and helpless little girl even though the incident has passed already.
Take for example the neighbourhood she lived in, when passers-by sees her, they’ll take a few more glances with a sympathetic attitude. Not only that, one time an old lady suddenly appeared and grabbed her hand, gave a sigh and said, “Good child, you’ve suffered so much ah…”
Jing Yun Zhao was completely stressed out.
But that wasn’t all, she’s already been receiving multiple gifts from all over the world for the past two weeks while she was at school.
While the teacher’s office was so cramped due to the gifts sent by kind-hearted people.
“Look… what are all of these? A down jacket? But it’s only September…” Teacher Jin said albeit being somewhat speechless.
“It’s only a down jacket, you look at all these other gifts, snacks, drinks… There’s also toys. Not only that, but I’ve heard that the school received a lot of donations, the total amount is at least 20,000 dollars and above.” The teacher beside her said with a sigh.
“These people have good intentions… but they’re too impulsive. When did Jing Yun Zhao ever ask them for help? The school also stated multiple times to the public to not donate… with so many people outside in need of help, yet they don’t help, what a mess…”
Surprisingly, there were still people donating to Jing Yun Zhao and although the amount donated was small, there were plenty of people donating.
The current Jing Yun Zhao was self-sufficient hence why the teachers were scared to tell her about the donation as they were afraid it would be a blow to her self-esteem.
At first, the higher-ups at school thought that the ‘kindness’ of these people would slowly die down in a few days, yet no one expected that not only would the ‘kindness’ persist for two weeks, it seemed to be getting larger. Therefore, not informing Jing Yun Zhao about these donations wasn’t an option, but when they thought about Jing Yun Zhao’s prideful face, they didn’t dare to tell her.
The teachers were helpless as they kept the gifts in a pile; the same day in the afternoon, Jing Yun Zhao was called into the headmaster’s office.
The headmaster was a kind person, who spoke slowly and clearly, without any arrogance; he always wore a white shirt paired with a old coat.
When Jing Yun Zhao walked into the office, she could only see items littered throughout the office, some were books; some were clothes; while some were letters.
When Jing Yun Zhao sat across from the headmaster, she saw the table had a cheque worth 270,000 dollars on it.
“Jing Yun Zhao, the reason I called you over here is to ask a few questions.” The headmaster said and coughed dryly before continuing, “Everything in this room plus the money on the table was donated by people with kind intentions from all over the world, and although our school has said that we would not accept donations, we couldn’t stop their momentum. So we wanted to ask for your opinion, do you want to accept the donations?”
Once he finished speaking, the room fell into complete silence causing the headmaster to be slightly embarrassed as this was the first time that he as the headmaster had to show a helpless expression in front of a student.
Jing Yun Zhao instantly connected the dots as she finally understood why the school kept asking her if she was lacking money or if she needed any help previously, it was all due to the overwhelming amount of kindness from people all over the world.
