Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 110: Secret Realm (9)

While this secret realm was littered with mountains similar to them, these mountains stood out.

"The inheritance ground that no one has managed to break into until today."

Grey had read all about it. From what he gathered, this inheritance ground was something left behind by a powerful third or fourth rank expert. It was also believed that this secret realm was forged by that very expert.

"But which fourth rank expert is it?" Grey was slightly confused.

For now, there were only five known fourth rank experts publicly known. Without taking the high orders into account, since he knew for certain that they had fourth rank experts in their ranks, aside from them, he couldn't name any others.

"According to the records, these five four star experts emerged almost a thousand years ago. But what about before them?"

Did that mean the world didn't have four star experts until a thousand years ago?

A 1st ranker had around 100 years to live; some could even reach 200 if they had a good body. 2nd rankers could easily live up to 500 years. 3rd rankers were said to be capable of reaching the 1,000 year range. As for the fourth rank, rumors said they could easily live for 5,000 or even 10,000 years. He had asked Eterna once, but she refused to answer due to his low citizen rank.

If there were four star experts before a thousand years ago, then they should still be around. After all, it had only been 10,000 or more years since the Era of Evolution.

"I might be able to find some answers once I enter the inheritance ground." Grey nodded.

With that, he shot off toward the three mountains, the one on the right to be exact. You needed to clear the trials in the two mountains on the left and right to enter the main mountain.

There was no time to waste; the realm was only open for a single day after all.

Considering how huge this place was, it took him five minutes of flying to actually reach the mountain.

He slowly descended down onto the mountain. Immediately, he felt a barrier appearing around him. It was a faint fluctuation, but he caught it.

'What rank is this array?' Grey mumbled under his breath.

Upon using his True Origin Insight, he realized the complexity of the array, it was like a maze. Just looking at it made him feel dizzy.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing a high level formation barrier, you've gained insight into Formations.]

"This is definitely a high grade third rank formation, or maybe even a fourth rank one." Grey mused, quite surprised.

Were there such powerful array masters in the old times?

The only known four star formation expert was the Great Polarity Master, the creator and protector of the Sun and Moon Academy.

Amidst the confusion, Grey descended further. From the outside, there was nothing but trees and vegetation on the mountain. But after he crossed the barrier, he was able to see what was inside.

It was actually a huge entrance that looked like it led downward. Coincidentally, just beside the entrance, a huge group of evolvers stood, almost twenty of them.

They seemed to be arguing about something.

"The Ardent Family's young master has entered the trial ground; others may not pass!" Many Ardent Family members stood guard in front of the entrance to the trial ground.

"How is this fair?!" one of the evolvers, who appeared to belong to some prominent family, shouted.

"Everyone has a fair chance of entering the trial ground!"

"You guys cannot stop us!"

"Move out, you Ardent Family bastards, or else we will take action!"

"You mongrels!" one of the Ardent Family evolvers shouted. "Understand your place! If you dare enter the trial ground, then you will become enemies of the Ardent Family!"

Hearing this, everyone who had been lashing out at them went deadly silent.

Just then, a strong wind blew heavily across the ground in an unnatural way. This caused everyone to look up unconsciously.

"Huh?"

Everyone who looked up was stunned.

In the air was Grey, who was curiously looking around the place, like he was taking a casual stroll through his garden.

"H-H-He is flying!" one of the evolvers exclaimed in disbelief.

"WHAT THE F*CK!"

"What?!"

"How is this possible? How is he flying?"

"The energy required to fly at the 1st rank is simply not enough to step on air for ten seconds straight!"

"Not even espers with telekinesis can do that!"

"C-Could it be Law Transformation?" one of the evolvers said in a horrified tone.

"W-Wait, isn't that guy the one who made trouble with Young Master Anderson?!"

The Ardent Family evolvers, seeing this sight, had stunned looks on their faces, and their shock only increased with each passing moment.

They first believed it was just someone using energy to step on air, but he was still floating there, completely fine. The worst part was that they couldn't sense any energy fluctuation from him at all.

Hearing the commotion below, Grey turned to the evolvers and slightly descended, standing directly above their head level.

"What?" Grey asked with a deadpan expression on his face. "Is there something on my face?"

The evolvers gulped heavily when they heard him.

One of them gathered some courage and spoke, "N-Nothing, sir… w-we were just admiring the sky."

The others quickly nodded and spoke up.

"Y-Yes! That's right!"

"Yeah! We were admiring the sky! Nothing more!"

They were sweating bullets inwardly. They remembered vividly how they had looked at Grey with ill intent before arriving here.

But now, they didn't even dare move in his presence.

The dude was literally flying!

And he was still flying as they spoke!

There was no need to doubt anymore, this was Law Transformation.

"Hey, it's him!" one of the Ardent Family evolvers shouted gravely. "It's Grey Loc—"

But before he could even finish his words, Grey casually waved his hand. Immediately, sword energy burst out from him, infused with Heavenly Tribulation.

It flew out in a crescent shaped beam, which then split into several smaller arcs, matching the five Ardent Family members. The energy beams went directly for the evolvers. Before the man who spoke could even finish his words, the energy struck his body, slicing it cleanly into two pieces, alongside the other four members of the family.

Ardent Family evolvers, dead.

Everyone sucked in a cold breath when they saw this.

Some even trembled uncontrollably.

The place had gone deadly silent.

Grey then flew over to the entrance and landed neatly on the ground. He turned to the evolvers who stood outside and spoke.

"Whoever enters will have their little brother broken," Grey said with a kind smile on his face. "As for the fellow ladies, as a gentleman, I'll only break your bones."

"…"

Everyone immediately shivered when they heard this, especially the female evolvers in the group. They looked like they were about to tear up and burst out crying.

"D-Don't worry, sir! We will make sure that nobody enters the trial ground. It's all yours!" one of the evolvers gulped.

"Good."

Grey nodded, satisfied. He immediately went inside the entrance while the evolvers stood in stunned silence.

Then one of them shouted, "Everyone run!"

They all took a single step backward together, then bolted like their lives depended on it, several sonic booms going off in succession from their speed.
