"I-I understand," I sighed, my head this time hanging out of disappointment and obedience since I couldn't really go against her words.
Even dating somebody else was allowed, meaning I couldn't really reject this marriage even if I tried my hardest… I'm sure both sides would take care of the news anyways.
"Oh, baby… I'm sorry," Mommy muttered, hugging me tighter and slowly stroking the top of my head.
"I-It's okay. I understand why this is happening," I muttered, slight tears welling up in my eyes.
"*sigh*... but of course, you'll get something in return. If you want something, speak up now. I will grant you any present or wish that is within my capabilities,"
"Then… let me have my own base and really let me help you out. Not some stupid errand but a real and powerful decision that could make changes… I want something like that… if possible," I requested, and even though my mother seemed colder than usual, she let out a long sigh of defeat.
"You have to say the magic word," Mommy whispered into my ear before turning to my other mother.
"I-I'm not a kid,"
"Well, your mother won't accept it unless you give that extra edge… I mean, come on, you've said it multiple times before. How is it different from now?"
My eyes shifted to the black-haired woman in the corner of the room, and my mother's face just lit up with surprise, swiftly turning into a soft chuckle.
"Oh, you're just too adorable…."
My face flushed red as acting like this was completely out of character in front of Auntie Charna, but if it was to achieve these two goals of mine, then I wouldn't mind giving up some of my dignity.
"P-Please," I turned to my mother, who looked down on me from the edge of the bed, this time speaking up.
"Fine, but don't come complaining to me that the experience scarred you and you can't do it again… because I'll send you right back to school if that happens. You're going to see the real world for what it is and what it's worth,"
"Don't worry… I'm very experienced,"
"Mhm…"
…
"Huff… huff… huff… huff… What the hell?" I muttered, watching my team get utterly slaughtered by shadowy figures streaking across the room.
Our tiny dwelling had been ambushed by the enemy somehow, and my team had absolutely no time to react, causing them to become minced meat right before my very eyes.
Even I couldn't keep up as I attempted to first use my skills, but for some reason, they already knew I was the strongest and held me down, restraining my limbs completely while my team that I had specifically hand-picked for this occasion was slaughtered down to their bones.
"R-Retreat!" I shouted, struggling out of the grasp of these shadowy figures who I somehow managed to escape from.
But, as I ran away, soaked in blood from head to toe, I realized I was utterly alone but couldn't go back now; otherwise, they would've taken me away.
"How the hell did they know where we were… how? Just how?" I banged my head, but the only thing coming to mind was that my "Mother gave them information to try and discourage me from continuing down this path… goddammit!"
As I ran back towards my base, I felt the presence of a few shadows follow right after me, meaning they intentionally let me go in order to find out where we came from.
But, if I brought them back, everybody there, including the non-combatants, would be slaughtered mercilessly, meaning I needed to take care of them right here and now.
"You caught me off guard before, but this time I'll pulverize y-"
I coughed up a thick amount of blood as the three shadows disappeared from my senses and suddenly appeared right below me, stabbing three daggers into my torso.
They just narrowly missed my lungs, but I could still feel the air escaping from them as I attempted to breathe in.
VWOOM
But all of a sudden, they turned to ash under the pressure of a dim gray light, and from a corner of the streets, I had escaped through, I saw a woman with brown skin and frilly white maid attire appear before me.
"I want sent by your mother to protect you. Let's get going," She muttered, helping me up and giving me some support at the base camp not too far away.
The entrance wasn't very hidden, but it didn't matter as of now as the people guarding the place came out, helping me in while the maid of death took the frontlines and killed every single assassin who had trailed us once again.
They probably already learned of the base's location due to my fault, meaning we would have to move soon.
"OUT OF THE WAY! MEDICS! SOMEBODY GET MEDICS!" A guard shouted as I was brought to the very depths of the base.
But I couldn't make it any further as I felt the amount of blood pouring out of me reach a limit that hindered my consciousness.
Soon, I saw medics coming to help me, and the warm golden glows that they produced were so fulfilling that I was immediately put to sleep under the comfort.

Dammit… these stats were supposed to be strong… what the hell happened back there.
"You were naive," A cold voice echoed through the room as a woman with short white hair stepped through the doors of the private infirmary I was currently resting in.
"Shut up…"
