The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 256: Dukedom of Frosty Planes vs The Second Dark Army (2)

"Blade of Alchemy? What an interesting name,"

"Well, all of them were personally brewed within the Empire's very own colosseum… How interesting. All of them are like her children,"

"And what does she specialize in?"

"Powerful green fire, a bit weaker ice, and… death,"

"Kekeke… Death? Okay, I see. Bring it on then… We'll see who the stronger necromancer is,"

(Lucy POV)

A few weeks had passed, and the opposing army had already made their first move, but little did they know, everything on our side was prepared.

After using the black core to create amazing armor for most of my soldiers, we were practically unstoppable against any normal humanoid thing… but the fire giants are what bugged me.

"Status on the dukedom? Any attacks so far?" I asked the captain, who had just come back from another recon mission under the guidance of Cora.

"There have been so many that I've lost count. It seems like most of the dark-elven slaves was playing submissive until they got a signal. We still have no clue what the signal is, but I do know it is silent and working,"

Slowly, Cora and I turned to her little dark elven girlfriend, that just shrugged under our gaze.

"Can we trust you?" I asked as Cora didn't have the heart to speculate the one she began to develop feelings for.

It was hard to tell as there wasn't much, but love was blooming between them and separating them from their sexual relationship.

They were using each other for their bodies before, but now they actually began to love each other… slightly.

"You can. If you want, I can even stay put here at this new base. I won't move an inch… you can even chain me up if that makes you feel safe," The dark elf said sincerely, as if she actually wanted to help us out.

But I've been with her enough to know that she won't betray us, and if she does… well, it'll be the biggest plot twist of the century.

"Fine. Maids, take her captive in my cabin and never let two eyes roam off of her. Serve her well, and I only give you permission to harm her unless she is attempting to escape," I ordered the maids next to me, and soon she was taken away.

We had currently made a base right next to the wall and where we assumed the monsters would blast through.

Also, apparently, the general is a necromancer just like me… but much stronger, so I'll have to use my flames to my advantage.

My ice is significantly weaker than anything else I use right now, so keeping that stored away will be the best for us.

"Commander, would you like to know what Miss Tiana is doing?" The captain asked her voice stern and almost commanding.

"No need. I know she's completing her job well,"

And for confirmation, I saw the captain smirk a bit with relief before bowing and taking her exit from the outside table we had set up.

"Are the soldiers ready?" Cora asked as I was the one responsible for organizing the army and making sure they were kept alive until the attackers broke through.

"Yes… how about the adventurers? They must've begun their setup as well… I'm sure they won't be staying still while a horde of monsters come at them,"

"Most adventurer guilds have already put out bounties for the most heads brought back. And the ones for fire giants are going for hundreds of gold… we just have to use them well, and that's when we'll strike,"

"Of course,"

(Tiana POV)

"Ma'am, all the dark elves have been eradicated. They all appeared in the spots you predicted, but unfortunately, some of us were too slow to react, allowing them to cause more damage than we wanted,"

"That's fine, but how are the citizens? Have they been evacuated?" I asked the tundra snake soldier in front of me.

He was so strong that he could easily wipe me out with just a snap of fingers, but luckily I had two commanders on my side who gently lent him to me.

If it wasn't for him and his corps, I wouldn't have been able to take over my family so easily, but executing them publicly for all their horrendous deeds wasn't what I wanted.

Especially in the midst of an upcoming war, this could create more chaos, so I neatly shoved them into the deepest part of our dungeon.

"Yes, but the adventurers refuse to leave. They keep saying how they'll defend the dukedom with their life,"

"Don't worry. That's part of the commander's plan… They are the bait she is looking for, and since they're very strong, we can't do anything about them anyway. Well, how do you feel about taking some of the strongest ones on?" I asked the man.

The man couldn't tell whether this was a genuine question or I was trying to taunt him, but nevertheless, he responded honestly.

"I have no chance against some of the strongest ones,"

"I see… well, don't feel bad. You can't have everything," I muttered before getting up from my seat and making my way to the bottom floor of the mansion.

In my second office, there was a bookshelf, and after pulling down one of the books, a large passage opened up to the dungeon.

"Let's see if they're willing to talk now," I smiled, and upon arriving at the deepest section of the dungeon, I gave the interrogator a pat on the back.

"Miss, they have spilled all the information needed," She muttered before wiping the blood from her whip.

"Good, you can go on break now. I need to privately ask them some questions," I muttered, my eyes trailing her all the way to the exit, where she gave me a cheerful goodbye.

"Now, tell me where the artifact is, and I'll consider letting you go,"

"YEAH, RIGHT! GO FUCK YOURSELF! TRAITOR!" My uncle shouted, causing my lips to purse into a small smile.
