Edwin is a tall, strong, handsome young man from a remote but otherwise unspecified village in the faraway countryside, who is not at all secretly an undead mage in disguise. The completely normal Edwin wishes to join the Adventurer’s Guild, an association of government-funded mercenaries that protect the citizens from dangerous monsters that lurk in the wilds. Edwin’s journey will be a perilous one as he learns to fight, makes new friends, and slowly begins to realize that even the best-laid plans don’t survive contact with the enemy – which, often enough, is none other than he himself.
