The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 360: As Strong as the Heavenly Dao

Thousands of beams of light shot out from the flying ship, illuminating the sky in an instant, and with a fierce noise, a huge mountain was leveled to the ground.

"Wow, so powerful!"

The demons of Huaguo Mountain were stunned by the sight.

"The full firepower of this flying ship can destroy mountains and obliterate lands in the blink of an eye."

Immortal Master Erlang said to Sun Wukong, "With the Erlang's infantry aboard, this ship is as impregnable as a metal fortress; even an Immortal couldn't shoot it down."

"Um."

Sun Wukong nodded: "Who do you plan to take to the Northern Continent?"

"Some demons from Huaguo Mountain, The Immortal of Colossal Spirit, and my original subordinates will be sufficient."

Immortal Master Erlang answered, "Prince Nezha is also interested in going, but we still need to ask Ao Luan for permission."

"Alright."

Sun Wukong nodded, and after the ship returned, he hosted a banquet for Immortal Master Erlang and his party to say farewell.

A few days later, the Bull Demon King also made his selection and bid farewell to Sun Wukong.

In addition to several Demon Saints, the Bull Demon King called upon the Bear Demon King and took thousands of demons from Huaguo Mountain with him.

The Bull Demon King's preparations were not as thorough as those of Immortal Master Erlang, so he took more demons with him, including a group of youths who were still studying Wanling Heavenly Dao.

"Can they handle it if they haven't graduated yet?"

Some people asked.

"It's better to gain practical experience than to study without application."

The Bull Demon King's answer was something Sun Wukong greatly agreed with.

Just like Immortal Master Erlang, he also took a warship, which the Bull Demon King personally named "Jade-faced Fox."

Both of these warships were weapons of war.

After seeing off the Bull Demon King, the Water Virtues Star Monarch looked somewhat worried.

"Great Saint, is it really a good idea to use such weapons?"

He had a premonition that the Wanling Heavenly Dao would become estranged due to the war.

"Why not?"

Sun Wukong didn't care much.

Such warships, if continuously developed, would undoubtedly become killing machines among humans.

He understood what the Water Virtues Star Monarch was worried about.

"Weapons don't make mistakes."

Sun Wukong said, "It's the people who wield them that make mistakes."

He had no intention of limiting the potential of the Wanling Heavenly Dao.

Because the stronger the Heavenly Dao, the stronger he would become.

A few days later, Sun Wukong called for Ao Luan.

"What did you ask for me?"

Ao Luan inquired.

"I want to teach you a protective spell."

Sun Wukong said.

Ao Luan was a bit surprised; this was the first time Sun Wukong took the initiative to teach her a spell: "What spell?"

"Come closer."

Sun Wukong asked Ao Luan to come closer.

Ao Luan moved up to one meter away from him.

"Not close enough, come closer."

Ao Luan took another step, half a meter closer.

"Even closer."

Ao Luan stepped forward nervously once more.

"That's about right."

Sun Wukong nodded: "Close your eyes."

"Brother..."

Ao Luan couldn't take it anymore.

"It's fine if you don't."

Sun Wukong leaned his face closer.

Ao Luan hurriedly closed her eyes.

The next moment, Sun Wukong's forehead touched Ao Luan's forehead.

Ao Luan was startled, feeling somewhat embarrassed, her eyes tightly shut, her brain steaming.

"Relax."

Sun Wukong's voice reached her ears: "Don't think about anything."

"Yes."

Ao Luan took a deep breath and gradually calmed down her mind.

Slowly, a small Wanling diagram began to emerge at Sun Wukong's brow, flying towards Ao Luan's brow.

The Wanling diagram hit Ao Luan and, in just an instant, Ao Luan felt her consciousness engulfed by enormous wisdom.

She seemed to lose her body, her mind swimming like a fish, reveling in an infinite sea of knowledge.

The knowledge turned into Immortal Texts, encompassing her like an ocean.

"How warm."

That's what Ao Luan thought.

The surrounding Immortal Texts brought her joy.

This is Sun Wukong's world.

But it's not enough.

Ao Luan wanted to know more, she saw more Immortal Texts beyond the ocean, up in the sky.

After learning all the ocean's Immortal Texts, Ao Luan flew toward the spiral sky.

She didn't know how long she had flown when she finally broke through the sky.

But at the moment of breakthrough, utmost terror surrounded her.

It was as if she saw a gigantic tree, and the ocean she had just been in was merely a tiny vein of a leaf on that tree.

The vast Tree of Knowledge rooted in the void, its numerous knowledges and possibilities flowing and spreading across it.

A mere glance up could cause mortals' souls to scatter.

The vast and endless knowledge, wisdom, created a terrifying pressure, making it hard for Ao Luan to breathe.

"This is the Heavenly Dao..."

Ao Luan shuddered, despite having achieved the Immortal Dao, in front of this tree, the Immortal Dao contained within a single leaf could surpass her.

A tree root surged towards Ao Luan, as if to swallow her whole, Ao Luan wanted to run, but had no strength to do so.

"Get out."

A loud shout suddenly rose.

The next moment, Ao Luan felt an immense pain, and her entire being was thrown out.

Her consciousness returned to her body, she bent over and gasped for air.

"Your soul cannot accept too much of the Heavenly Dao now; it's easy to be swallowed by it."

Sun Wukong stood before her and said, "Learning that one spell is enough."

Ao Luan looked up at him.

"Brother, what exactly is the Heavenly Dao?"

"Hard to explain."

Sun Wukong thought seriously and said, "The distance between mortal knowledge and yours."

He said, "Is the distance between you and the Heavenly Dao."

The gap is too big; even if he explained, it wouldn't be clear.

Ao Luan took a deep breath.

She didn't think she was all that great, but at least in terms of knowledge, she shouldn't be inferior to the average Immortal.

"Brother means..."

Ao Luan asked tremulously, "In your eyes, are Immortals the same as mortals?"

"That's not it."

Sun Wukong shook his head: "At least not now."

The Heavenly Dao he now mastered was still not perfect, but it should be in a few decades.

This was a power that could not be described in words.

Searching the entire Three Realms, only he and Buddha had reached this stage.

Hence, he had no need to fight.

Battles with Immortals had become somewhat boring to him.

"Don't think too much."

Sun Wukong told Ao Luan, "Concentrate on learning that spell; it will be a great help to you."

Ao Luan nodded and left Shuilian Cave tremblingly.

Her body did not stop trembling even after she walked out of Shuilian Cave.

"Is that the Heavenly Dao?"

She leaned against a tree, trying to calm herself down.

"Princess, what's wrong?"

The Jade Shrimp Palace Maid waiting outside for a long time asked, "What did the Great King teach you?"

"What?"

Ao Luan turned her head to look at her and raised her finger.

"That thing..."

As the Jade Shrimp Palace Maid followed where her finger pointed upward, she saw Immortal Texts flashing across the sky, and a colossal object gradually came into creation.

It was a battleship.

Majestic, beautiful, exactly the same as the Owl and the Jade-faced Fox.

The Jade Shrimp Palace Maid was stunned.

"How, how is this possible..."

"I can create this warship to serve as my weapon."

Ao Luan said.

She was able to do this because she received authorization from Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong is the master of all spirits, he can command and create everything made by the Wanling Heavenly Dao.

As strong as the Heavenly Dao is, so is he.
