The Tathāgata Must Fail

Chapter 327: The Stolen Trick

Lingshan, the Buddha Light was splendid and magnificent.

"Buddha."

A Holy Monk walked into the Great Heroic Treasure Hall: "Gamei Spirit Official and Saint Zhenjun wish to meet with You."

"I know their purpose."

The Buddha said: "Tell them to go back and inform the Jade Emperor that there's a Dharma meeting in the Buddhist realm today, and it's inconvenient for me to travel."

Upon hearing this, everyone was buzzing with confusion.

After the Holy Monk left, The Bodhisattva Guanyin stepped out: "Buddha, there is trouble in the Heavenly Palace, why won't You go?"

"I cannot go."

The Buddha replied.

Guanyin asked again: "Isn't this the moment that Buddha has been waiting for?"

"Not long ago, the celestial fate suddenly changed."

The Buddha sighed: "The grand calamity of the Heavenly Palace cannot be avoided, whether I go or not, nothing will change."

Upon hearing this, all the Buddhas were greatly surprised.

"Why would Buddha say such a thing?"

Someone incredulously asked: "Could it be that the Great Saint is even mightier than the Buddha?"

"It's not that simple."

Randeng Ancient Buddha calculated by pinching his fingers and said: "The problem is not about who is stronger."

The Buddha nodded: "I can no longer see through Sun Wukong."

Sun Wukong was exceptionally talented, but had practiced for only a short time and his merits were far inferior to his; in terms of martial power, he couldn't possibly surpass him.

However, Sun Wukong suddenly caused a drastic change in the celestial fate, and for a while, the Buddha could only calculate the surface, not knowing what the future might bring, so it was better to cautiously remain an observer.

"You needn't worry."

Amidst a murmur of concerns, the Buddha said: "The great calamity of the Heavenly Palace is a certainty, whether it will be good or bad for the beings of the Three Realms, I cannot predict, but..."

He paused and looked around at all the Buddhas.

"After this battle, our Buddhist sect will surely flourish."

In his predictions about the future, at least this much he was certain of.

He looked up towards the Heavenly Palace, as if he could see the scene of all the immortals scattering in all directions.

"Amitabha..."

The Buddha squinted his eyes.

The turbulent years of the Three Realms were about to begin.

Heavenly Palace, the flames of war had already reached the outside of Tongming Hall.

Emperor Ziwei eventually lost to Emperor Qinghua, leaving only countless Heavenly Soldiers and Generals densely arrayed in front.

Sun Wukong walked slowly over with Emperor Qinghua.

The soldiers trembled as they looked at the staff in his hand.

A myriad of Immortals rushed from behind, their expressions solemn as they watched the two walk toward Tongming Hall.

"We must act now."

Star Monarch Beidou said: "If we don't act now, the Heavenly Palace will surely be destroyed!"

Each person felt an unprecedented heaviness.

They charged towards Sun Wukong.

"Sun Wukong!"

In front of Tongming Hall, the Heavenly General guarding the door shouted: "Do you really intend to—"

Before he could finish, Sun Wukong lifted his Jingu Bang, lightly swinging it.

The Heavenly General, along with countless Heavenly Soldiers behind him, were instantly blown away by the force of the staff.

Sun Wukong's golden hoop staff did not slow down, swinging in a large circle, directly creating a tornado that swept over the approaching Immortals, causing them to spew blood and be flung away.

They struggled to stand up, only to see the Tongming Hall engulfed in roaring flames, destroying the hall completely.

"Qinghua, keep them in check!"

Sun Wukong left these words behind as he stepped over the ruins of Tongming Hall.

The Immortals' eyes split with rage, wanting to follow him, but were blocked by Emperor Qinghua, only able to watch Sun Wukong slowly move forward.

Constantly, debris crumbled and fell beside him; he walked through fire, climbing the long steps of the Palace of the Polestar.

A path formed by flames extended beneath his feet.

The fiery light shone on Sun Wukong's invincible silhouette, draping him in a crimson battle robe.

Sun Wukong looked at the radiant golden palace.

He had reached another critical juncture of fate, but this time it was different.

"Sun Wukong."

Queen Mother stood in front of the Palace of the Polestar, leaning on her walking stick.

"Don't kneel."

Sun Wukong softly said, "Step aside."

He did not harbor hatred for Queen Mother, even though she made mistakes, her nature was not evil.

Queen Mother was startled, she had mustered her resolve with difficulty, how could he know what she was planning to do?

"Sun Wukong."

Queen Mother took a deep breath and said, "If you harm His Majesty, the Three Realms will descend into chaos, that's what you desire..."

Sun Wukong's eyes slightly narrowed, not letting her finish, his Jingu Bang swept across in a strike.

Flames roared out from the Jingu Bang, and before even touching Queen Mother, the wave of force had already pushed her far away into the distance.

When Queen Mother looked up, all she could see was the Palace of the Polestar engulfed in flames.

Amidst the rising flames, Sun Wukong was about to enter when he saw a figure striding forward.

It was the Jade Emperor.

He looked at Sun Wukong, indifferent to the crumbling debris and flames around him.

"I didn't expect you to come this far," said the Jade Emperor.

Sun Wukong smiled, "Can you phrase it differently?"

The Jade Emperor was taken aback, then his face darkened, "Do you intend to destroy the Heavenly Palace?"

"What if I said yes?" Sun Wukong countered.

"How audacious—"

Suddenly two powerful voices rang out.

Two figures broke through the clouds with great force descending from the sky.

Sun Wukong looked up, and was slightly surprised.

It wasn't Buddha.

Gouchen and the Immortal Huangjiao, hand in hand, landed between the Jade Emperor and Sun Wukong.

"This monster monkey, capture yourself now!"

Gouchen bellowed angrily, swinging his Heavy Sword which transformed into a beam of white light, striking towards Sun Wukong like lightning.

Sun Wukong met him with the staff.

The clash of sword and staff exploded like thunder, the resulting shockwave stirred the clouds and winds, tearing the clothes of immortals hundreds of meters away.

With a clang, Sun Wukong propelled himself into the air, his arm slightly sore.

"Interesting—"

Sun Wukong hovered in the air, an amused expression on his face.

He looked at Gouchen; once the butterfly effect was triggered, it would continue to escalate.

After awakening, Sun Wukong had not sweat a drop in battle.

He eased his wrist, not expecting to be challenged by Gouchen.

Different from the encounter in his memory, Gouchen seemed to have transformed completely.

His strength, was now comparably mighty to Buddha's back then.

"Where does this power come from?" Sun Wukong curiously asked.

"The Heavenly Palace is my strength!" Gouchen smirked coldly, as a War God, he could only exhibit his greatest power on the battlefield.

But at this very moment, the entire Heavenly Palace was a battlefield.

All the enemies Sun Wukong had encountered on his way — all the immortals who tried to stop him — now served as sources of Gouchen's power.

This was a level of strength he had never experienced before in his life.

"I can do anything."

Gouchen looked at Sun Wukong with eyes ablaze with anger, "You still have time to surrender now."

Sun Wukong started laughing.

"I can also do anything now."

In the next moment, winds howled around him, and the Jingu Bang erupted in lightning-like brilliance.

"Watch my staff!"

Sun Wukong laughed, then like a roaring giant dragon, he shot down from the sky.

This was an overwhelmingly domineering strike!

It was also a move he had secretly learned.
