Aisha's eyes flashed with anger at Iris's crude remark. "That's rude!" she exclaimed in retort, her voice sharp and commanding, "Show some respect, you mangy mutt."
Iris let out a quiet growl in response to her comment, her wolfish instinct kicking in as she stepped forward towards Aisha, her claws extending intimidatingly. "Or what?" she snarled back. "You'll excommunicate me?"
Eleanor quickly stood between them, stopping them from causing a scene. "Alright, alright bitches" she said firmly. "Let's all calm down."
She then turned to Aisha, her expression stern. "Aisha, I understand this is necessary for you," she said slowly, "But that doesn't mean we like it."
Alicia nodded in agreement and stepped closer to stand beside Eleanor.
I stepped forward, my expression thoughtful. "Then, how about this?" I said with a calm smile. "We will make Aisha take a test to make you three accept her."
Aisha's eyebrows raised in curiosity. "A test?" she repeated what I said. "What kind of test? It better not be anything weird."
I shrugged nonchalantly, "Well, it depends on your definition of weird," I said, and continued, "If you pass, or let's say impress your sisters here, then welcome to the family."
Eleanor and Iris exchanged glances, a hint of amusement in their eyes.
They knew this method was for Aisha to be accepted by them, a solution that would satisfy everyone, but...
Who said the test needs to be something she can pass?
Aisha hesitated for a second, her pride warning her not to depend on the will of those filthy beings of darkness.
'But the prize is too tempting,' she thought to herself, a blush creping on her cheeks as she thought about something she shouldn't as a saintess.
'No, it's totally because of my duty, nothing else,' she reminded herself, shaking her head in denial.
Finally, she nodded curtly. "Very well, whatever it may be," she said." I accept your challenge."
Then she turned her head towards me, her gaze steady and determined. "But you should know this," she added a bit softly. "I won't lose".
"Alright then, what should we decide on?" I was about to think of a suitable test that would definitely satisfy everyone.
'Yeah, I am not going to choose something that will be biased or anything,' I thought, reasoning my decision to choose the trial.
But before I could announce the test, I was interrupted as Eleanor Iris and Alicia stepped up in unison, "Let us handle this," Alicia said firmly, "Or else your horny self will likely pass her even if she fails your sketchy test."
She then gestured to Claire, the blue-haired maid standing nearby 'Claire, help remove these unnecessary sweet cheeks from here," she said, effectively removing me from the judge position.
I frowned in dissatisfaction as I was dragged away by the Overpowered maid, "Hey!" I protested, "I can be objective, you know."
Eleanor scoffed condescendingly, "Sure you can, my beloved Darling," she mocked sarcastically. Her eyes glinted in amusement as she remembered something. "After all, who was it that said he wants a hundred wives?"
Iris snickered as well beside her while Alicia shook her head in disappointment, "Valerian, my husband, I didn't know you were such a perv," she chided gently, "You really need to control your fantasies."
My face flushed red in embarrassment at the reminder of my earlier ramblings. "That doesn't count," I insisted weakly. "I was tired and—"
"And horny," Eleanor finished the words I totally didn't want to say.. "We know that's why we're taking charge."
Aisha watched the exchange with a mixture of disbelief and annoyance.
'Are these people serious?' she thought as she didn't understand what was going on.
I sighed and gave up on resisting, knowing I was outnumbered.. "Fine then," I conceded and let Claire gladly take me away. "You guys handle the test, but let me know what it is."
Eleanor exchanged a glance with Iris and Alicia before turning back to me. "Let's see the test," she announced, a mischievous smile appeared on her face. "It's a cooking challenge."
I blinked in surprise. "A cooking challenge," I repeated incredulously, "That's the test to determine whether you accept her or not."
Iris nodded proudly as if cooking was that big of a deal. "Yep," a wicked grin was plastered on her face. "If this Church's bitch can impress us with her cooking skills, then she passes."
Alicia stepped forward, placing a hand on my arms, "Think of it as a test of domestic skills."
I stared at them in disbelief, my mouth hung agape. "Don't tell me you three don't know how to cook," I guessed, as for them to come up with cooking of all things was just weird.
But my words made them shudder as they trembled, "No, definitely not." They tried to deny, but their body spoke for them.
They fear the kitchen...
I nodded, realising that further argument would be totally pointless. "Alright," I muttered and held up my hands in surrender. "Let the test begin then."
Eleanor then looked towards Aisha, glaring intensely. "You have one hour," she announced, gesturing to the kitchen. "Impress us with your cooking skills."
Aisha hesitated for a moment before nodding curtly, a smug smile on her face. "Very well," she said, her voice steady. "I accept"
She then turned around and walked towards the kitchen, head held high. As she entered, Claire was already busy preparing the ingredients and utensils.
"I didn't know you'd handle the preparation for me," she muttered to herself in a grateful tone. "That helps me then."
"Humph, think of it as a kind gesture for the hell that awaits you," Eleanor muttered with a smirk.
"Huh? hell," Aisha mumbled, confused at the term.
'Cooking isn't that hard though,' she thought to herself.
Eleanor, Iris, and Alicia followed around closely, observing her every action to see how she would fare in this place they considered hell.
I also trailed after them, still unsure about the whole situation.
"So let's see what you can make, surely a saintess who only understands to sing praises of her god also knows how to cook...right? Decent enough, that is," Eleanor mocked as she observed the kitchen.
But in response to Eleanor's mocking tone, Aisha was surprisingly calm and confident. "Oh, you'd be surprised," she smoothly said and rolled up her sleeves. "I may be a Saintess, but I'm no stranger to the kitchen."
She turned to Claire, who was laying out various ingredients on the counter., "I'll also need some flour, sugar, butter, eggs, and baking powder," she instructed briskly. "And a large mixing bowl."
Claire nodded and quickly gathered the requested items. Eleanor raised an eyebrow in surprise at her confident listing of ingredients. "What are you making?" she muttered in curiosity. Iris hmmed in agreement, her tail wagging in curiosity as she leaned against the counter.
Aisha smiled mysteriously. "You'll see soon enough," she said while cracking the eggs expertly into the bowl.
As Aisha was busy cooking, my attention was drawn to a shelf with a danger sign.
[Danger: Garlic here]
This piqued my interest as I turned towards Alicia with a question. My expression was curious. "By the way," I began in a quiet tone of inquiry, "Is garlic dangerous to vampires like in the fictions?"
To my question Alie shook her head a small smile on her face "Its just a fake rumour you don't need to worry about it" she explained softly "It was spread to reduce the fear of Vampires. The only thing that affects vampire is pure energy of the sun and Holy energy" she paused and added "Because Vampires are essenetially spirits of the night though sun isn't really harmful it could be if its pure enough it could burn the essence of a vampire And about Holy energy its actually harmful to anyone who is not a god or a angel"
Eleanor nodded in agreement, stopping her observation of Aisha to join in the explanation. "Garlic is harmless, yes," she confirmed, but soon a look of disgust appeared in her face. "Though I must admit I've never been a fan of the smell."
Iris wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Ugh, me neither," she agreed. "It's so pungent and overpowering, especially to my enhanced senses."
"I don't get what's so bad about it?" I muttered in confusion.
Eleanor rolled her eyes at my comment."What's so bad about it?" she repeated in an incredulous tone.
"It's overpowering and cloying, that's why!"
Iris nodded in agreement, making a face."Yeah, and it lingers for hours," she complained."You can taste it in everything afterwards."Alicia sighed, patting my shoulder sympathetically."I get you like garlic," she said gently."But not everyone shares your taste."
Aisha glanced up from her mixing bowl, a hint of amusement in her eyes."Garlic is an acquired taste," she remarked calmly."Not everyone appreciates its...intensity."
I shrugged nonchalantly. "More for me then," I muttered, unapologetic in my love for garlic. Then I remembered something and added, "A pity, then I was thinking of visiting a friend of mine in India, most dishes there have garlic in them, guess I will have to go alone."
Eleanor's eyes widened at Valerian's comment. "India?" she repeated, her tone incredulous. "You mean to tell me that most dishes there have garlic in them?" She shook her head in disbelief. "A pity?" she muttered, making a face. "I can't imagine eating garlic with every meal."
Iris shuddered at the thought. "That sounds awful," she agreed, wrinkling her nose."I don't know how your friend stands it."
Alicia frowned thoughtfully."It's a cultural difference," she said softly. "Some people enjoy the flavor profile that garlic adds to their cuisine."
Aisha nodded in agreement, her hands still moving deftly as she prepared her dish. "Every culture has its own unique tastes and traditions," she remarked calmly.
I shrugged, unperturbed by their reactions. "More variety for me then," I muttered, a hint of excitement in my voice at the prospect of trying out new foods.
