“This should be enough,” he thought. He invoked his control over the genuine world through the Law of Heavenly Way. He then decided to grant the very first ‘perfect being’ path from this world to himself.

It was being granted to his soul since his body wasn’t here, but this didn’t matter.

Now that he was granted the path, his energy began churning once again. It then began rapidly circulating. In just a few seconds, he broke through into the Mahayana realm.

Second layer, third layer, fifth, eighth, peak. But this was just the start.

Next was the immortal realms.

Earth Immortal – early, mid, late, peak… Heavenly Immortal. True Immortal, Golden Immortal, Immortal Emperor.

Now was the celestial realms.

This reminded Xiang Yu of something he had almost forgotten about. As he broke through realms, he received lots of energy optimizations and his energy was being endlessly refined.

At the moment, he already had his qi refined to the point of becoming god qi.

Celestial Lord realm – he was still going. Celestial King, Celestial Emperor, Celestial Supreme, and then… God.

He thought to himself that this should solve his issues regarding the need for sage qi when his professions eventually breakthrough.

For the fight, he chose the sage.

He didn’t hold back and went all out. With his sage qi, he was able to force his complete Absolute Source Law to display a level of power high above its current realm. He decided to call this half-step transcendent, though this didn’t make sense since looking at how there was no new progress bar for the law after it reached peak manifestation, it meant one couldn’t transcend halfway.

You can either transcend or you don’t. But the details didn’t really matter.

After a few breaths, Xiang Yu was defeated. His opponent had been the sage at the first path and using Martial God realm. Even though Xiang Yu lost in just a few breaths, he was extremely excited. This meant that he had a chance.

He decided that his combat power for now was half-step sage.

If he could get his martial arts to the martial god realm, he should be able to have about first path sage combat power. He still had a long way to go, but he was on the right path.

He opened his eyes in the real world. Not like he really had eyes – he could perceive things in all directions at the same time without even needing divine sense thanks to his species. At the moment, this ability worked on the entire planet, allowing him to perceive everything in it intrinsically.

He transformed into his human form and got up. He then walked up to where the new spirit veins were. There were five of them and they were already at immortal grade and had already been connected to the grid, feeding the formations in the sect and other energy needs.

When he reached there, he found five tiny fairy-like creatures floating before Li Yao.

They were the spirits of the spirit veins since he had chosen not to devour them this time.

“What are you guys doing?” Xiang Yu asked.

The spirits rushed forward, bowing to Xiang Yu. “We greet the master,” they said in unison.

“Nothing. I was just warning them not to have any ideas about my husband,” Li Yao said. “They’re really useful to senior brother. It would be a real pity if they killed themselves for no reason,” she said, showing her hands in resignation.

“You mean if you killed them,” Xiang Yu thought, though he didn’t say anything.

“You mean if you kill us,” the fairies thought, but they also kept the thoughts to themselves.

“Stop bullying others. I’ll help you awaken your martial realm,” Xiang Yu said.

She perked up when she heard this. “You want to bully me?” she asked in excitement.

Xiang Yu smiled. “That’s right. I’ll awaken your martial path in just a day…”

“Not believing in the sage” : if you remember how sage realm was introduced earlier, it was a myth in the celestial realm. Thus gods and other celestial don’t really believe in the existence of this realm.
